Press release submitted by Tyler Price, Baker University Assistant Athletic Director
Since the first-ever Small Business Saturday took place on November 27, 2010, it has encouraged people across the country to support small, local businesses. Founded by American Express, to give small businesses and brick-and-mortar stores across the country a special boost and a way to get shoppers’ attentions between Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Since its beginnings, Small Business Saturday has outgrown its American Express roots and the “local-first” movement it helped propel has been adopted by a growing number of small businesses across the country.
Here in Baldwin City, the local Chamber of Commerce is encouraging everyone to shop the local shops and restaurants in the Baldwin City community. Small Business Saturday this year will take place on Saturday November 26 this year.
