INDEPENENCE, Mo. – The entire 2016 Baker University women’s basketball senior class was named 2016 NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes at the National Championship event this week.

The following seniors all became two-time scholar-athletes including Taylor Chase, Ericka Simpson, Macy Wallisch and Jami Hodge.

In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.

Baker will next take on rival MidAmerica Nazarene tonight at 6:30 p.m. inside the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena in Independence, Missouri for the NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball National Championship.

This is the first appearance in the title game in the history of both Baker and MNU’s women’s basketball programs.
