BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University dance team placed four athletes on the 2016 NAIA Competitive Cheer and Dance All-America teams, announced on Tuesday.
Baker led all schools with four athletes named All-America in the dance category. The four All-Americans include Alison Prather, Allie Howland, Kaitlyn Stout and McKenzie Kula.
It was also announced this week that Baker dance has qualified for the 2016 NAIA Competitive Dance National Invitational on Mar. 11-12 at the Quad City River Center in Davenport, Iowa.
The 2016 NAIA National Invitational is a first in the sport of Competitive Cheer & Dance (CCD). CCD is in the second year of “Invitational Sport” status, which means that at least 25 institutions currently sponsor Competitive Cheer & Dance at an intercollegiate varsity level. The NAIA is the only collegiate Association to declare Competitive Cheer & Dance as an intercollegiate varsity sport.
