The 58th annual Maple Leaf Festival was held this past weekend in downtown Baldwin City. Organizers say this years event was a huge success.
The parade included fire trucks from Baldwin City, Palmyra Township and Willow Springs Township. Other participants in the parade include a number of politicians (Jesse Brinson Jr., Eco Van Meteren, Tom Holland, Jerry Moran and Lynn Jenkin), McGruff the Crime Dog, and marching bands from Baker University, Baldwin Junior High, Baldwin High School, Toganoxie High and Osawatomie High among others. Not to mention a number of floats with the theme "A Salute to Kansas."
