Baker Football Ranked Number 2 for Third-Straight Week

BALDWIN CITY, Kansas – After capturing its 13th-straight win over a Heart of America Athletic Conference opponent in Saturday’s, 52-7, win over Avila, the Baker University football team is ranked number two for the third-straight week in the NAIA Football Coaches’ Top 25 poll. 
The 7-0 Wildcats received 302 total points this week, and trail number one Marian (Ind.) by 12 total points in the poll.

Baker will next take on rival MNU this Saturday, October 22 at 2 p.m. in Olathe, Kansas at the Olathe District Activities Center.

The Wildcats continue to rank near the top in several categories nationally in 2016. Baker is number one in the NAIA in total passing yards with 2,740 and ranks number one in the country in sacks allowed with two.

Baker’s 362 total points scored is number three in the country and the defense’s 13.9 points allowed per game is third-best in the NAIA.

The ‘Cats allow just 122 yards rushing per game, ranking number 13 in the country and their 310 total yards allowed is 9th nationally.

Baker has won two of the last three meetings with MNU, as they defeated the Pioneers, 38-19 last season and 37-20 in 2013. Both 2013 and 2015, Baker earned a conference championship.
