WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Wildcats Win Regular Season Finale over William Penn, 78-61

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – With 21 points from senior Jami Hodge and another 19 from fellow senior Ericka Simpson, the (RV) Baker University women’s basketball team defeated William Penn, 78-61, on Saturday afternoon in the regular season finale.

The Wildcats moved to 22-7 overall and 16-6 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference earning the No. 4 seed in next week’s Heart Conference Tournament.

William Penn falls to 13-16 overall and 10-12 in the Heart in its first season in the conference.

Also scoring in double figures included senior Macy Wallisch with 11 and Kelsey Larson added 10.

Simpson and Sydney Buchel had a team-high six assists in the victory and Baker assisted on 22 of its 29 field goals.

Baker was impressive from three-point range, shooting 10-of-18 for 55.6-percent. Larson was a perfect 3-for-3 and Hodge went 3-for-4.

Courtney Hoag scored seven points and had a game-high 12 rebounds off the bench and Baker held WPU to just 29.9-percent shooting from the field.
