MEN'S BASKETBALL: Graceland Edges Baker, 69-65



BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Solid free-throw shooting down the stretch carried Graceland University to a 69-65 win over Baker on Saturday afternoon inside the Collins Center.

Graceland moves to 14-10 overall and 9-7 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, while Baker fell to 11-12 and 7-9 in the Heart.

Javeion Gray led the charge for Baker with 19 points and Taylor Johnson added 10 points.

Baker turned Graceland over 20 times, but 10 three-point field goals in the first half for the Jackets propelled them to the win.

Baker outscored the Jackets, 34-32, in the second half, but Graceland hit its free-throws down the stretch to escape with the four-point win.

The ‘Cats knocked down eight three-point field goals with three coming from freshman Clae Martin.

The Wildcats will next take on Central Methodist on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m. inside the Collins Center.
