Baldwin City, Kansas – On Thursday, February 11th the Baker University Music Department will host the 18th Annual High School Honor Band. The band will include over 100 student musicians
from thirteen area high schools for a full day (8am-5pm) of rehearsals and clinics. This year’s guest conductor will be Prof. Mark Doerffel, Director of Bands at Grand View University in Des Moines, IA. Prof. Doerffel is excited to work with these top musicians! The Baker University Symphonic Winds will also share the stage during the evening concert and perform a few selections of their own. Director of Bands, Dr. Frank Perez is this year’s honor band festival director and will also make a guest appearance to conduct “Home on the Range!” Please join us for an exciting evening of music! Admission is FREE – all are invited! The concert will begin at 7:00pm in Rice Auditorium, 404 8th Street.
