WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Number 16 CMU Escapes with 68-63 win at (RV) Baker


 
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The No. 16 ranked Central Methodist women’s basketball team escaped its Heart of America Athletic Conference match-up at (RV) Baker University with a 68-63 win on Wednesday evening.

With the win the Eagles kept a hold of first-place in the Heart of America Athletic Conference standings with its 16-1 mark.

Baker now hangs on to fourth in the conference with its record of 12-5 and is now 18-6 overall.

DaJonee Hale had a big game for CMU with a game-high 29 points and the Eagle defense caused 18 Baker turnovers.

Four ‘Cats scored in double figures including 14 each for Sydney Buchel and Jami Hodge. Buchel filled up the stat sheet with six rebounds and two assists.

Ericka Simpson added 13 points, while reigning back-to-back Heart Player of the Week Macy Wallisch scored 10 points and had nine rebounds and six blocks.

The Wildcats will next take on a Culver-Stockton team that is 11-6 in the Heart standings and one game back of Baker on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 2 p.m.
