BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University men’s basketball team picked up the season sweep over Benedictine College on Wednesday night with its 79-62 win over the Ravens.
Baker defeated BC, 76-71, back on Jan. 20 inside the Collins Center. The Wildcats will next host Grand View on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m.
With the win, Baker moves to 12-14 overall and 8-11 in Heart of America Athletic Conference play, while Benedictine moves to 14-11 overall and 8-11 in the Heart.
Benedictine, Central Methodist and Baker are all tied for sixth-place in the Heart standings.
Daniel Young was perfect from the floor, shooting 5-of-5 from the field and 2-of-2 from the free-throw line for 12 points, while Nick Young led the ‘Cats in scoring with 17 points.
The Baker defense held the Ravens to 35.7-percent shooting and 14 turnovers, but the Ravens grabbed 15 offensive rebounds.
Nathan Guscott joined Young and Wilson in double figures with 12 points. Javeion Gray led the team in assists with four.
Baker led 36-25 in the second half and then outscored the Ravens, 43-37, in the second half.
