BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University men's basketball team fell at home on Saturday, 98-95, in overtime against Peru State.
The loss puts Baker, Missouri Valley and Peru State all in a tie for 8th place in the conference standings, with all three teams sporting an 11-13 Heart of America Athletic Conference record. Baker is now 14-14 overall, while Peru moves to 12-16.
The Wildcats have two more regular season games left, as they travel to Graceland on Wednesday, February. 22 at 7:30 p.m., then hosts number 24 Grand View on Saturday, February 25 at 2 p.m., on Senior Day.
Senior Tyrome Parker had a terrific game for the 'Cats with his 27 points on 8-of-12 shooting and went 10-of-14 from the free-throw line.
Three other Wildcats scored in double figures including 17 from Brock Mick, 11 from Nathan Guscott and 12 from Daniel Young.
Baker outrebounded the Bobcats, 37-31, but had a tough time slowing down Peru's Rashad Brackeen, as he led all scorers with 31 points.
Tyree Peter nearly had a double-double with nine points and seven rebounds and Parker had a team-high three assists.
Baker shot 48.3-percent from the field on 28-of-58 shooting and turned the Bobcats over 13 times.
