SOFTBALL: Park Sweeps Baker, 6-1 & 3-1


PARKVILLE, Mo. – The Baker University softball team traveled to Park University on Monday afternoon and fell to the Pirates, 6-1 and 3-1, at the Park Softball Complex.

With the sweep, the Pirates improved to 14-12-1, while Baker fell to 22-15.

Olivia Brees got the start in game one and lasted 5.1 innings, as she allowed five earned runs and eight hits allowed, while striking out four batters. Antionette Zamudio finished off the game in the circle.

Baker managed five hits on Park’s starter Allie Reynolds who threw a complete game seven innings.

Lizzie Stover went 2-for-2 to lead the ‘Cats while Hannah Tolliver, Lucy Staats and Ilona Miller had the other three.

In game two, Scotlin Hurley threw seven innings for Park and allowed just one earned run and four hits.

Tolliver led the game off for Baker and went 2-for-4, while Stephanie Cardona knocked in the lone run that scored Tolliver.

Baker will next take on Peru State on Wednesday, Mar. 30 on the road at 2 p.m.
