Presidential Candidates Campaigning in Northeast Kansas Ahead of Saturday's Caucuses

Overland Park, KS - Senator Ted Cruz made a campaign stop in Overland Park on Wednesday (March 2, 2016) evening. An estimated 1600 filled every seat in the Performing Arts Center at Johnson County Community College, 12345 College Boulevard, another 1,000 in an overflow area and an estimated 300 that were turned away.

The crowd was filled with enthused voters for Ted Cruz, some of who had traveled over 100 miles to be there. Several of whom, Mary Hill; of Liberty, MO, had homemade signs that they had brought in support of Cruz.
The doors opened at 5:30 P.M. with the rally scheduled to start at 6:30 P.M. However, after getting started late, the rally organizers, introduced the Presidential candidate at 7 P.M.
 Once taking stage, Cruz spoke on a number of different topics, talking about how Obamacare hurts the economy, jobs and small businesses in particular. "When it comes to jobs, the heart of the economy is small businesses," Cruz told the audience.

He also addressed Supreme Court nominees, telling the audience that President Obama will only appoint a committed liberal to the court.  While, he would only appoint, "principled Constitutionalists, committed to the law and constitution." Promising supporters that he would not compromise.

Tonight, March 3, 2016, Bernie Sanders will make his way to the 4-H Fairgrounds, 1930 Harper, in Lawrence, KS.  Like the Cruz event, the Sanders event is free and open to the public.

The only other campaign to stop in Kansas, will not be in Northeast Kansas. That being the Marco Rubio campaign, that will come to Wichita's Jabara Airport, Hanger 9,3512 N Webb Road. The event, which is also fee and open to the public, will be tomorrow afternoon, Friday, March 4, 2016 from 1:45 PM to 2:30 P.M.
