Baker Men Upsets Number 24 Grand View on Senior Day, 93-88


 
 
BALDWIN CITY, Kansas – The Baker University men's basketball team sent seniors CJ Bolton, Tyrome Parker, Taylor Johnson, Kelvin Bramble and Javeion Gray off with an impressive, 93-88, win over number 24 Grand View on BU's Senior Day.

The win moved Baker to 16-14 overall and 13-13 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, guaranteeing them the number 8 seed in next week's Heart Conference tournament.

Thus, the Wildcats will host the Heart First Round on Tuesday, February 28 at 7 p.m. against a team to be announced later.

Grand View falls to 20-9 overall and 18-8 in Heart play. Baker has now won two-straight and has scored 90 or more points in three-straight games.

Gray and Parker both scored in double figures for the 'Cats, as Parker had a team-high 17 points and Gray scored 12.

Also in double figures for Baker were Daniel Young with 15 and Tyree Peter with 12. The Wildcats outrebounded the Vikings, 38-33.

Bolton, Brett Elifritz and Nathan Guscott all led the team with five rebounds and Gray, Parker and Guscott all led the way in assists with three.

Baker shot 50.8-percent on the day from the field and 20-of-26 from the free-throw line, good for 76.9-percent.
