MEN'S BASKETBALL: Baker Picks up Home Win over Central Methodist, 79-68


BALDWIN CITY, Kansas – The Baker University men’s basketball team used a big second half to push past Central Methodist University, 79-68, inside the Collins Center on Wednesday night.

At the break the score was tied at 29-29, but Baker outscored the Eagles, 50-39, in the second half and outrebounded CMU, 41-26, as Tyree Peter led the team with seven boards.

The Wildcat defense held CMU to just 23.8-percent from three-point range and caused 12 turnovers.

Taylor Johnson and Brock Mick provided huge sparks off of the bench for the ‘Cats, as Johnson led the way with 15 points and Mick scored 11. Tyrome Parker matched Mick with 11 points and five rebounds.

Parker also led the team in assists with four and Daniel Young added three blocks, nine points and four rebounds.

The Eagles Adair Cole led the team in scoring as he finished the game with 20 points and six rebounds.

Collectively, the Cats shot 51-percent from the field and 33-percent from behind the arc, nailing seven three-pointers.

Baker will next take on Clarke University, this Saturday at 2 p.m. inside the Collins Center.
