WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Kelsey Larson Breaks School Record with Eight Three-Pointers in Win over Clarke

BALDWIN CITY, Kansas – Baker University senior forward Kelsey Larson broke the BU school-record for three-point field goals made in a game with eight on Saturday afternoon, as the Wildcats defeated Clarke, 103-63, inside the Collins Center.

The Iola, Kansas native finished the day with 30 points and shot 8-of-12 from behind the arc and 10-of-16 from the field overall.

This marks the first time since December 18, 2014 the Wildcat women’s basketball team has scored 100 points or more, as they defeated Midland that day, 100-99.

Baker also tied the school-record for three-pointers made in a game, as they nailed 18. That tied a mark they set just a few days ago on Jan. 9, 2017 when they hit 18 in the win over rival then-No. 5 MNU.

The ‘Cats shot 18-of-36 from three-point range, 50-percent and 50.6-percent from the field, shooting 39-of-77.

The Wildcats only turned the ball over five times and outrebounded the Crusaders, 43-35. Three other ‘Cats scored in double figures, as Mackenzie Cook scored 10, Jessica Zweifel scored 14 and Jodi Atkins had 13.

Sydney Buchel had a team-high six rebounds and Larson led the way with five assists.

The Wildcats will next travel to Grand View on Monday, January 23 to play the Vikings at 5:30 p.m.
