WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Baker Vaults Into Top 10


BALDWIN CITY, Kansas – Riding a four-game winning streak and sitting atop the standings of the Heart of America Athletic Conference standings, the Baker University women’s basketball team jumped up four spots to number 10 in this week’s NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 poll.

The Wildcats are joined in the Top 25 by fellow Heart foes number 13 Central Methodist, number 15 Benedictine and number 16 MNU.

Baker had a big week last week with an impressive 85-60 win over then-number. 5 MNU in which the ‘Cats made a school-record 18 three-point baskets. They also defeated Graceland, 78-49.

BU is 13-3 overall and 11-1 in the Heart. They will next take on rival number 13 Central Methodist on Wednesday, January 18 at 5:30 p.m. inside the Collins Center.

CMU defeated Baker, 69-66, the last time these two teams met back on November 16, 2016 in Fayette, Missouri.
