Janice Wells Rice, 82, of Baldwin City, KS, passed away November 13, 2017. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner. Cremation. Janice was born May 26, 1935 in Myrtle, AR to Edger Lee and Leona (Dennis) Wells. She grew up in Monett, MO and moved to the Kansas City area in the late 1950’s. She was living at Vintage Park, Baldwin City, KS. She married William Lewis Rice on February 11, 1978 in Avondale, MO. Janice worked for 29 ½ years at North Kansas City Hospital as a Unit Secretary. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edger and Leona and husband, William. Janice is survived by children: Kerri Buckley, Portland, OR, Jami Buckley, Kingsville, MO, and Stacy Buckley, Baldwin City, KS; siblings: Newton Wells, Carolyn Evans, Barbara Porter, Joann Nelson, Dennis Wells, Bruce Wells and Barry Wells; four grandchildren: Matthew Boinski, Kellie Beverly, Aleah Romer and Alex Romer and four great grandchildren: Kylee, Randi, Lindley and Matteo and former husband, James Buckley.
