LAMONI, Iowa – Number 4 Baker captured its 10th-straight win against a Heart of America Athletic Conference team on Saturday, as they defeated Graceland University, 44-15, to move to 4-0 on the season.
The Baker offense again dominated the contest with 559 total yards, 289 rushing and 270 passing.
Cornell Brown ran for 232 yards on 20 carries and accounted for three rushing touchdowns.
Three-time consecutive Heart offensive player of the week Logan Brettell threw for 261 yards with three touchdowns on 33-of-48 and he three two interceptions ending his Baker record for most passing attempts without an interception.
Defensively, Nate McLaurin intercepted his first pass in a Baker uniform and Avery Parker recovered a Juan Frazier fumble.
Akim Francis led the way with seven tackles and two tackles for loss. Graceland threw for 274 yards but ran for just 63.
Three different receivers scored a touchdown reception for the Wildcats including Ladai Shawn Boose on a 55-yard TD, Quanzee Johnson on a 14-yard TD and Damon Nolan scored from 22-yards out.
Brown scored TD runs of 56-yards, 15-yards and 8-yards. Clarence Clark also had four catches for 24 yards.
Baker will return home to face Number 15 Benedictine on Homecoming next Saturday, September 24 at 1 p.m. Benedictine defeated Number 18 ranked MNU, 24-14, on Saturday.
