BALDWIN CITY, Kansas – For the second-straight week, Baker University junior quarterback Logan Brettell earned the Heart of America Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week award, announced on Tuesday.
Brettell had nearly a perfect day in less than a half of football, as he went 18-of-19 passing for 329 yards and a Baker single game record seven touchdown passes.
The Baker offense put on a record-breaking performance in the Wildcats’, 89-27, victory over Culver-Stockton on Saturday.
Along with Brettell’s new record, Baker’s 75 points in the first half broke the 1922 Baker football teams record of points in a half when the Wildcats scored 60 points against Bethel (Kan.) in a half en route to an 115-0 win in 1922.
Clarence Clark also scored on a 51-yard TD pass from Brettell in Saturday’s win making him Baker’s all-time leader in receiving touchdowns with 27.
Baker will next take on number 23 ranked William Penn this Saturday, Sept. 10 at 11 am CST in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
