Baker Football Remains at Number 4 in NAIA Poll


KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI – After its 4-0 start to the season, the Baker University football team remained ranked number 4 in this week’s NAIA Football Coaches’ Top 25 poll, announced on Monday.

The Wildcats are one of 11 teams still undefeated in the Top 25 poll and one of five teams from the Heart ranked.

The four other Heart squads include, number 8 Grand View, number 11 Missouri Valley, number 12 Benedictine and number 23 MNU.

Baker will clash with nationally ranked Benedictine this Saturday, Sept. 24 at 1 p.m. on Baker’s homecoming. BC enters the game with a 3-1 record, they handed MNU its only loss of the season last Saturday.

This will mark the 33rd all-time meeting between the two foes, as Baker holds the 17-14-1 edge over the Ravens.

Baker is 8-4 against BC under head coach Mike Grossner and won seven-straight meetings from 2006-2012.

The Wildcats rank No. 1 in the NAIA in total passing with 1,626 yards and No. 1 in total scoring offense with 210 points.
