Bass, Greenbaum & Rivera-Albeso Named to Heart All-Conference Baeball Teams


BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Three members of the Baker University baseball team earned spots on the 2016 Heart of America Athletic Conference All-Conference teams, as seniors Gabe Greenbaum and Austin Bass were named to the Second Team All-Conference, while reliever Kekai Rivera-Albeso was named to the Honorable Mention All-Conference squad.

Bass led Baker with a .362 batting average, along with a team-high 59 hits, six triples and was fourth on the team with 13 stolen bases.

Greenbaum hit .338 his senior season and led Baker with 40 runs scored and his on base percentage of .495 led the ‘Cats. He was also second on the team in stolen bases with 17.

Rivera-Albeso was arguably the Wildcats’ best reliever. He led the team with a 3.48 ERA and in his 20.2 innings of work, he allowed only four extra base hits.

The Wildcats ended its season in the semifinals of the Heart Conference Championship last week and its 24 wins are the most since 1999.
