BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – William Penn University ended Baker University’s three-year reign as Heart of America Athletic Conference champion, as they took first place in the 2016 Heart Championship Tournament at Table Creek Golf Course.
William Penn captured first place with a total score of 643, 21 shots ahead of second place Grand View and 29 shots ahead of third place Baker University.
Baker was led by Samantha Mitchell who took fifth place with her 79 and 82 total of 161. Also in the Top 10 for Baker was Bailey Gibson who T-9 with a 166. Three-time Heart Tournament Champion, Lindsey Mateer ended her impressive playing career with a T-12.
Also competing for Baker included Kaci Dillingham and Bailey Rockers who finished in 21st and 34th place respectively.
With their performances, Mitchell and Mateer each earned spots on the All-Conference Team.
