BALDWIN CITY, Kansas – The number 1 seeded Baker University women's basketball team looks to make more history on Monday night, as they host rival number 2 Benedictine in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship game at 7:07 p.m. inside the Collins Center.
The game will be broadcast worldwide on ESPN 3 and locally on KSMO-TV. The game will be called by longtime broadcaster Neil Harwell and Heart Assistant Commissioner Lynn Meredith.
The 28-4 Wildcats host the 25-7 Ravens on Friday night. The contest will be FREE to the first 100 Baker students that entire the front gates with their Baker ID, thanks to University President, Dr. Lynne Murray.
All other tickets for the event will be $10 for adults 18 years and older, $5 for members of the military and senior citizens and $2 for all other students with ID.
Baker has won 15-straight games and is 2-0 against BC this season. Baker hosted the Ravens on December 10 and defeated BC, 69-56. On February 11 BC hosted the 'Cats and Baker survived, 64-62.
BU has won three-straight against Benedictine, including a 50-34 win over the Ravens in the Fab Four of the NAIA National Championship Tournament last season in Independence, Missouri.
Baker is led by 2016-17 Heart Player of the Year Kelsey Larson, who averages 11.9 points per game.
The 'Cats have an incredibly balanced attack this season, as seven different players average eight or more points per game.
The three-point shot has been big for Baker this season as well. Four different 'Cats have hit at least 40 three-point field goals with 61 coming from Larson. BU ranks number 4 in the NAIA in three-point field goals made per game at 8.6.
The Ravens are led by junior Kristen Murphy, who averages 16 points per game. BC outrebounds its opponents by 7.5 rebounds per game this season, which ranks number 12 in the country.
