Cornell Brown Named Heart Offensive Football Player of the Week


BALDWIN CITY, Kansas – Baker University junior running back/wide receiver Cornell Brown made it a perfect 4-for-4 start for the Baker offense, as he became the fourth-straight Wildcat to earn the Heart of America Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week award, announced by the conference office on Monday.

The Baldwin City, Kansas product did just about everything offensively for Baker in the Wildcats’ 44-15 win over Graceland.

The junior ran for 232 yards on 20 carries and 3 touchdowns, he also threw a pass fro six yards and had four catches for 35 yards.

Brown leads the Wildcats in rushing with 393 yards on 53 attempts. Averaging 7.4 yards per carry. He has four rushing touchdowns and three receiving touchdowns.

He is second on the team in receptions with 22 and has 216 yards receiving, averaging 9.8 yards per catch.

The number 4 ranked Baker Wildcats are 4-0 and host number 15 Benedictine who is 3-1 on the year this Saturday, Sept. 24 at 1 p.m. on Homecoming. This marks the first time since 2011, Baker and Benedictine have played inside Liston Stadium.
