Free Smoke Detectors For Baldwin City Residents

The city of Baldwin City recently announced that the Baldwin City Volunteer Fire Department in cooperation with the Kansas State Fire Marshall’s Office is proud to offer Free Smoke Alarms to area residents. We require a member of the fire department install the detector. These alarms are available to private residences that do not currently have working smoke alarms. You may request an alarm by calling the fire department at 785-594-3678 and leaving a message with your contact information. We will get back with you as soon as possible to schedule an installation time. Please note that smoke alarms should be tested monthly and replaced after 10 years. Statistically most fire related injuries occur in homes without a working smoke alarm.
