WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Baker Picks up Season Sweep over Graceland


BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The (RV) Baker University women’s basketball team earned the season sweep over Graceland on Saturday, with its 82-49 win inside the Collins Center.

Reigning Heart Player of the Week Macy Wallisch scored a career-high 24 points against the Jackets and grabbed 10 rebounds.


With the win Baker moves to 18-5 overall and 12-4 in the Heart, while Graceland falls to 2-19 and 1-15 in conference play.

Kelsey Larson also scored in double figures with 10, and 11 different Wildcats scored a point.

The Wildcat defense caused 22 jacket turnovers and held Graceland to 32.7-percent shooting.

Baker also outrebounded Graceland, 43-32, with Wallisch leading the way with her 10 and Courtney Hoag along with Sydney Buchel each had six rebounds apiece.

The ‘Cats also shot a stellar 82.6-percent from the free-throw line on 19-of-23 shooting and Ericka Simpson was a perfect 5-of-5.

The Wildcats will next take on first place Central Methodist on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 5:30 p.m. inside the Collins Center.
