No. 18 Peru St. Hands Baker Men A Loss on Senior Night


BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – With 33 points from Corday Sims, the No. 18 ranked Peru State men’s basketball team defeated Baker University, 90-81, on the Wildcats’ Senior Night.

Before the contest, Baker honored its two seniors Cody Sunderland and Nick Wilson. Wilson was second on the team in scoring on Wednesday with 15 points, while Sunderland added three points and a rebound.

Taylor Johnson led Baker with 17 points and Tyrome Parker had a solid game with 10 points and five rebounds.

Sims scored 33 points on 9-of-19 shooting and went 12-of-13 from the free-throw line. Baker outrebounded the Bobcats, 45-42, and Daniel Young became the fourth Wildcat to score in double figures on Wednesday with 10 points.

Baker nailed 10 three-point field goals with three each coming from Clae Martin and Johnson.

The Wildcats will travel to Oskaloosa, Iowa for its regular season finale on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 4 p.m. to face William Penn.
