Baker Women Wins 20th Game of the Season


BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University women’s basketball team earned its 20th win of the season for the fourth-straight time on Saturday, as they defeated Grand View, 77-53, to move to 20-7 overall and 13-6 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

Grand View falls to 12-14 overall and 9-11 in Heart play with the loss.

The Wildcats got better as the game progressed with their highest scoring quarter coming in the 4th when they outscored the Vikings, 29-16.

Four Wildcats scored in double figures including 20 from Kelsey Larson and Sydney Buchel added 11.

Macy Wallisch added to her block total with seven more and she scored 10 points. Ericka Simpson was the final Wildcat to score in double figures with 10.

Baker nailed nine three-point field goals with four coming from Larson. The Baker defense caused 15 turnovers and outrebounded the Vikings, 45-36.

Baker will honor seniors Macy Wallisch, Jami Hodge, Ericka Simpson and Taylor Chase on Wednesday after its game with Peru State at 5:30 p.m. inside the Collins Center.
