The Baldwin City Chamber of Commerce and a number of Baldwin City residents gathered at Moose's Backwood Barbecue, to celebrate their first year at their current location at 522 Ames. According to Martin "Moose" Barnhart and his wife Angela they have been in business for six years. The first five in the trailer in the parking lot of the Baldwin City Market and the year at the current location as a dine in location with a drive through. However, Moose has been smoking meat for 20 years.
The open house celebration was held between 4:30 and 6 P.M. with smoked wings, pulled pork sliders and cookies as refreshments. The Benhart's son Hunter cut the ribbon at 5:30 P.M.
