LIBERTY, Mo. – The Baker University track & field team continued its outdoor season over the weekend at the Darrel Gourley Open, hosted by William Jewell.
DayShawn Berndt continued to impress in his final season, the senior placed third in the 200m dash and was the anchor on the national qualifying 4x400m relay team along with Tyler Randall, Jess Mathews and Birdsong Warren. The team took first-place with a time of 3:16.37.
Josh Peck had another strong showing with his second-place finish in the discus and Cory Peoples took sixth in the men’s shot put.
Freshman Gloria Mares took home fifth-place in the women’s 200m and Alex Garborino-Herman took fourth in the women’s 400m hurdles.
Kendal Holloman finished in the Top 10 in the women’s javelin with a mark of 3.25m and Greg Henning finished in fifth-place in the men’s long jump with a mark of 6.76m.
Baker will have athletes competing at both the Kansas Relays on April 21-23 and the Tabor Relays on April 23 in Hillsboro, Kansas.
