Candidates Start Lining up for 2018

Kevin Surbaugh

This week the race to replace outgoing Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins began to heat up.   On Thursday April 13, Former Kansas Democratic gubernatorial candidate Paul Davis, Lawrence, confirmed he had formed an exploratory committee ahead of a campaign for the 2nd District congressional seat to be vacated by the Republican Congresswomen.
By the end of the week, rumors began circulating that Kansas State Senator Caryn Tyson, Republican Parker, was also eyeing a run for the office. Something that the Gazette was unable to confirm before press time.
