WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Number 13 Columbia Upsets Number 12 Baker, 69-65

COLUMBIA, Missouri – The number 13 ranked Columbia Cougar women’s basketball team ended November 12 Baker’s five-game winning streak on Wednesday night, as they defeated the Wildcats, 69-65.

The game was all knotted up 36-36 at halftime, then the Cougars held Baker to nine third quarter points and caused 24 Baker turnovers.

Anna Hignight scored a Baker career high 18 points and shot nearly perfect from the floor, 8-of-10.

The Cougars turned the ball over just 10 times, but was held by the Wildcats to just 36.4-percent from the floor.

Each team knocked in seven three-point field goals and Columbia went to line 28 times, shooting 78.6-percent, 22-of-28. The Wildcats went 8-of-11 from the free-throw line.

Kelsey Larson joined Hignight in double figures with 10 points and Mackenzie Cook led the squad in rebounds with eight.

Sydney Buchel continues to fill out the stat sheet, as she finished with six points, five assists and five rebounds.

The Wildcats will again take on a ranked team this Saturday, December 10, as they host rival number 14 Benedictine at 2 p.m. inside the Collins Center on Alumni Day.
