Baker Men's Soccer Lands Seven on All-Conference Team

BALDWIN CITY, Kansas – Baker University senior defender Spencer Atkin and sophomore midfielder Steeve Pouna highlighted the list of seven Wildcats named to the 2016 Heart of America Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer All-Conference teams, announced on Tuesday.

Atkin and Pouna were both named to the First Team All-Conference, while senior defender Kyle Young and forward Blake Levine were named to the second team and freshman Peyton Brown, sophomore Gonnie Ben-Tal and senior Keaton Anchors landed on the Third Team All-Conference.

Atkin has helped anchor a Baker defense that ranks number 21 in the NAIA in total shut outs with eight and has outscored its opponents, 50-15 this season.

Pouna leads the team with nine goals scored this season and has attempted 32 shots with 19 on goal.

Levine and Ben-Tal are tied for second on the team in goals with eight, while Brown leads the team in assists with 11 and ranks number 5 in the country in that category.

Anchors has three goals this season with two assists and Young has five goals and two assists on the year.

Number 6 ranked Baker will host Grand View this Saturday, November 5 at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the 2016 Heart Conference Tournament.
