Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Makes Arrest in November Hommicide

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DGSO) has arrested two women in connection, to the November 2017 homicide of a 34-year-old Eudora man.
This morning, DGSO arrested Tria Evans, 38, Lawrence, and Christina Towell, 37, Leavenworth, for the death of Joel Wales.
Wales was killed in a residence in the 1100 Blk of E1200 Rd, south of Lawrence, on November 3, 2017, shortly after 9 p.m. On that night, first responders were dispatched to a residential fire with the sound of gunshots in the area. Once the fire was extinguished, Wales’ body was found inside the residence.
Both Evans and Towell have been booked into the Douglas County Correctional Facility for first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, arson, and aggravated burglary.
Due to the ongoing investigation of this homicide, no further information will be released at this time.
