Baldwin City, KS - Throughout the day residents all over the city gathered together for celebrations of our countries independence. A total of five fireworks stands sold fireworks all weekend and throughout the Fourth of July. Between the hours of one and five, residents from all over the city went to the city pool for free hotdogs and games.
Some of those residents then went to smaller neighborhood get-togethers. One such gathering, was the Lighthouse Baptist Church attendees munched on a potluck meal of hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad, baked beans, watermelon, chips and deserts. Then played horseshoes, volleyball and badminton.
After an afternoon and evening full of activities, folks gathered in their yards and made the trek to the Intermediate Center to watch the Cities fireworks display.
For some they got to see private displays from their neighbors as well as the public display from the top of the hill.
