According to the notice, the Baldwin City Utility Department will be performing maintenance inspections, repairs, and upgrades at the Newton Street Substation, during the week of March 19-23.
At 6 a.m. on March 20, the city will switch the cities electric load from KCP&L to the cities internal generation for approximately eight hours to complete a portion of this project.
The city would like everyone to be advised, that they DO NOT anticipate any interruption of service, however, they do want everyone to be aware of the project. Should anything unexpected occur, they want to assure everyone, that they will do their"very best to keep any disruption to a minimum."
Rob Culley, Baldwin City Electric Production Director said that these preventative maintenance projects are essential to extending the life of the equipment, and will help ensure the quality of service the city strives to deliver.
