This Wednesday there will be an event that hasn't happened in one-hundred-fifty years, that's right one-hundred-fifty years. What is that you say? Perhaps you have read the title and say, oh it's a Super Moon. However, it isn't just a Super Moon, we have all seen or at least heard of a Super Moon in recent years. We have even heard of a blue moon, that being the second two full moons in the same month. So is it the eclipse, no we have seen those two in recent years. What is so special about the event this time, is that it is the first we have had all three at the same time in at least one-hundred-fifty years.
In the words of the Detroit Free Press, 'a trifecta of space phenomena will decorate morning skies" across Kansas on Wednesday morning.

A lunar eclipse, supermoon and blue moon will be taking place simultaneously — the event is being dubbed by many as the “super blue blood moon.” - Detroit Free Press
Locally the partial umbral eclipse is expected around 5:48 a.m. This is when the outer shadow of the Earth begins to touch the moon’s face, according to timeanddate.com. It is difficult to see much without astronomical instruments during the penumbral eclipse.
The best time to view the eclipse in Baldwin City will be at 6:42 a.m. At that point, about 90 percent of the moon will be in shadow and will appear a deep red color with hints of brown, which is called a blood moon. Because it will be so close to time for the setting moon, you will have to look towards the western horizon.
