Topeka, KS -- Steve Watkins, U.S. combat veteran, engineer, and Republican candidate for Kansas’ 2nd Congressional District, today released the following statement blasting progressive politicians who support senseless immigration policies that put American citizens at risk. Watkins’ statement comes after a criminal illegal alien was arrested yesterday by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.) officials for the murder of Mollie Tibbetts, a University of Iowa student who had been missing since July 18, 2018.
“I am heartbroken that the month-long search for Mollie Tibbetts ended after she was found dead at the hands of Cristhian Bahena Rivera, a criminal illegal alien who had no business being in our country," said Steve Watkins. "We are a nation of law and order, and any politician who continues to support senseless immigration policies that put the well-being of criminal illegal aliens before the American people is an utter disgrace. In Congress, I will fight alongside President Trump to build a border wall, reform our broken immigration, and keep 2nd District communities safe so no family ever has to endure a tragedy like this.”
